| Why do you think this project is appropriate for the course assignment? | The project has regenerative values at its core, has already explored aspects of 'story of place' although huge opportunities to go further there, and has a nascent community land trust (Te Hapori Hauora) as its widest holding container that is in part governed by the indigenous peoples and specifically the family who lived on the land but then lost that land through the process of late-stage colonialism in this area; this community land trust has a bio-regional vision. |
| Additional Useful Information | We're in a great spot to look back at the last few years as to how we got here and Neighborhood 1 (first thirty homes) got fully underway (building now in progress) and to then take the insights we gain by looking at its path to now through the regenerative frameworks here on offer and bringing them to the wider group of stakeholders associated with the development of Neighborhood 2 and Neighborhood 3 (subsequent 'sub-sub-divisions') – including active Neighborhood 1 people – as a resource for them to take away through a workshop and possibly additional materials (eg, written, and further developed via the workshop with stakeholders). |
