My primary work at this stage of my life can be summarised into two focus areas: research and consulting. I'm currently doing a PhD (full time) researching how regenerative development can be implemented into the existing tourism sector and how it can create regenerative tourism opportunities in benefit of people and places. In my spare time (when I have some), I'm building a business on the side. I want to offer strategic consulting services to businesses that are ready to make a change and I view regenerative development as an avenue to do that.

I see my role as a catalyst for change. I have a deep passion and sense of commitment and responsibility to be a source of knowledge, inspiration and creativity in guiding societies towards a future of a different kind.

Personally, I aim to live my life in alignment with regenerative practices. It's not easy, and I'm not perfect, but this learning journey I am on is forcing me to bring the mirror up and ask the difficult questions, of myself, others and the systems we've built. In my professional life, my goal is to successfully complete my PhD, learn a lot in the process and above all, share everything I'm learning with anyone and everyone who would listen. Beyond that, I also have a goal to launch my consulting business in the near future with the hope to establish myself as a thought leader in this field.

I have invested in a lot of educational programs, including my Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, my PhD, several coaching programs, and learning journeys like this one.

Definitely a lot of mindset and inner work, not just as it relates to regenerative practices but also me as a person. Leave behind the scarcity mindset, the perfectionism, the imposter syndrome. I also really want to incorporate more values-led practices into my life. I feel like some areas of my life go against many of my inherent values and I'm finding ways to reconcile that.

The systems thinking field has completely revolutionised the way I see the world! Overall, the sustainability field has also really helped me understand that environmental protection goes so much farther than just conservation. In terms of thinkers that have been important in my life, I would say Bill McKibben, Donella Meadows, among many others. It's a big list!

Definitely establishing, building, and growing my consultancy. As an environmental scientist, business doesn't come natural to me so there's a lot to learn in this space, which is really exciting!

This is a difficult question. I'm not sure I've ever reflected on my philosophy of life. I don't believe in a creator but I do acknowledge that there exists something bigger than ourselves. Whether it's an energy field or something more tangible, I don't know. I have a deep admiration for the processes of nature and feel deeply connected and grounded when I'm in nature. As humans, I believe we are a manifestation of the millions of years of evolution and sadly somehow, at some point, we lost our way. I want to believe that we are inherently good, altruistic and caring towards our planet and that it's just a matter of guiding people in reawakening that notion in them...helping them 'come home'. I don't believe that the universe spent millions of years evolving just to spit out humans at the other end to destroy everything. There seems to be a missing puzzle piece somewhere which has led us astray. I'd like to think I have a role to play in helping us find it.
