1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

With a background in landscape architecture, sustainability, nature studies, and now emotional intelligence and consciousness, I find that my path may have been windy, yet I believe have always flowed together seamlessly in a heart-centered way geared to connecting nature, art, science, and spirit in everything we do. I'm finding all are connected and I am on the path to discovering why and how I can bring these idea into the world that benefits the harmony (living in coherence) and health of our natural systems, wildlife, and communities.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

My intuitive connection to nature, holistic organizational thinking, formal background in sustainability, and recent work in consciousness and spiritually allows me to bring a unique perspective on how to combine all together when problem solving.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

My vision for a future where people live, work, and play in harmony with nature has always been my intuitive mission. My professional experience has formerly been in urban design (sustainable transportation) and have since evolved to working in environmental nonprofits where regeneration has been the lead topic of many discussions and programming. I truly believe businesses have the ripe opportunity to adjust and transform into a circular economy and regenerative ecosystem. We are past needing to only sustain. It's time to truly rethink the way we operate from the ground up and through a holistic approach.

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

After reading the first reading assignment about the three lines of work, I very much agreed with the idea that to become agents of our own evolution, we need to combine all lines of work discussed. Having self-awareness of my own personality and life experience, I found myself in this category mentioned, "people work diligently on growing their own consciousness but never bring that into a life or work arena where they seek to make a contribution to the development of something larger than themselves". I'd like to be able to work on removing fear or organizing my mind (whichever it is), so be able to bring to life my many thoughts, ideas to make a tangible contribution to society.

5. And for professional growth?

I believe the same would apply as above; however more aligned with combining regenerative approaches to my current work at an environmental nonprofit or using my background and understanding to build a business that serves either natural systems or people on their healing/self-discovery journey.

I believe we need to transform the way we operate in all areas of life. To me, it's operating as nature intended. I was drawn to this course to learn the fundamentals of incorporating regenerative approaches into development of all kinds (personally and professionally). I also believe it would be priceless to learn from and work with similar hearts that value protecting nature, wildlife, and communities, while also having similar minds in design and development thinking in a variety of professions and skill sets.

Recently, I have been working for a consciousness and ecology institute which focuses on changing the inner (how we think, how we work, and who we are) so the outer can reflect. I believe this work harmoniously ties into the regenerative approach and I'd like to incorporate the concepts and frameworks from this course to deepen my process and understanding of nature with the goal to design and develop systems that align.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

-Education in natural system and development (undergrad in Landscape Architecture)
-Courses in Corporate Sustainability
-Courses and workshops in emotional intelligence and become your own change agent
-Online workshops and conference attendance on circular economy and regenerative practices
-Personal self-development
-Personal awareness and growth (learning how to look inward)
-Personal accountability to be the change I want to see (still working on it 🙂 )
-Personal contribution to change daily habits and purchases that are more friendly to the environment, wildlife, and people

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

Fields of Learning:
Regenerative Practices
Sustainable Urban Design
Circular Economy
Biodynamic Farming
Biomimicry
Tao te ching
Emotional Intelligence
Spiritual Intelligence

Thinkers:
Emerson
Einstein
John Muir
Jane Goodall
Simon Sinek
Alan Watts
Carl Jung
Maire Forego
Patagonia's Business Model

So much more to both categories...

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

In my opinion, throughout history, humans have thought themselves to be placed above everything in nature. Unfortunately, much of our development, businesses, relationships, etc. have been built upon this thinking. I believe this isn't so, and humans are just part of the greater whole of an entire beautiful ecosystem/universe that works in perfect harmony to move together flawlessly on its own. Let's create a world of harmony, peace, simplicity, patience, and compassion.

Some of my favorite quotes:
"The only difference between a flower and a weed is judgment." - Wayne Dyer
"Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished." —Lao Tzu
