1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

I see my primary work as bridge builder. First, back to heart centered approaches to work and life by learning to engage the living wisdom of our life experiences. This shows up in my work through holding space for conversations that don't originate from the mind's linear and logical patterns but that are centered in embodiment, intuition and honesty. And subsequently using the wonderful tool of the mind to then engage solutions. The second part of bridge building is through working in community to support the creative genius of the individual and the collective to come into expression and to bridge gaps where connection and communication have broken down. Through cultivating space for the expression of creativity and honesty, I see my work as offering bridges back to connection and engagement in service to community based solutions.

I work in Indigenous communities in Northern New Mexico and so I also see my role as supporting the thriving of Indigenous genius in the realms of education and wellness.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

My role is authenticity and creativity. I feel that my role is to help unwind old patterns of living in lack of possibility, disembodiment, avoidance of challenges and to instead create channels for people and communities to engage with their inner life. I see my role as facilitating the connection to one's inner life as a way to find true wellness + expression. My role is to be authentic in my own journey of unwinding these patterns and to create spaces for others to experience that for themselves. I also feel that my role is to support others in connecting to their innate creativity and discovering how they would like to use it in their lives.

I have always worked at the individual and community level to address visions for more holistic education. So I do feel that my role is to engage authenticity and creativity in this realm. While I work directly on education projects in tribal communities, I also see my work relating to the life long process of education we're involved in. I feel that all of life is education both in school and engaged in the world, daily life choices, relationships and connection to community and nature. I feel that my role is to bring together mind, heart, body and spirit in the professional realm of education + community based learning. I am deeply curious about the nature of our creative spirit and how to foster that connection across disciplines, projects and life experiences. I believe that to give precedence to our creativity is key to vitality–personally, professionally, communally.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

My intention is to develop my own framework drawn from the practices of regenerative design to address changes needed in the realm of education. I envision myself offering regenerative practices for community based education projects. I also envision building a program that is geared towards personal work at the individual level with youth and adults. The program would support people in learning to engage the ecology of mind, heart, body and spirit. Practices of regenerative design, embodiment techniques and creativity would offer them guidance through life’s challenges and opportunities in order to meet their creative ideas and visions and bring them to life.

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

I feel my next arena for personal growth is to communicate my ideas, offerings and perspectives more directly and openly. I think at time I am anxious to break norms or disturb the agreed upon operating frameworks of thought and being. At times it can feel vulnerable to offer a different perspectives or way of being in relationship. For the last 3 years I have been in a process of creative recovery. I've been able to reconnect to my sense of wanting to create in different mediums (professionally and artistically) and to gain deeper insight into how to steward the ebb and flow of my creative life.

5. And for professional growth?

I aspire to develop my own framework(s) to work with the wholeness of organizations. I’d love to draw from my experiences as an educator and embodiment practitioner to support teams and organizations in cultivating wellness and creativity personally and professionally. My aim would be to draw upon regenerative design to work at the individual and organizational level to navigate challenges, foster creativity and collaborate with their communities in a meaningful way.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

I've invested trust in the unknown. I think of trust as a faculty and a resource that is cultivated in the midst of vulnerability and risk. Throughout my formal education, work experiences and life decisions I've been willing to take big risks in order to understand my mantle and to find deeper expression as an artist and member of the communities I've been apart of and invested in. I feel that I've also invested a lot of patience and time into arriving in this present moment. I've engaged the willingness to see projects through, show up for artistic practices, face personal challenges in my inner life and relationships. I also think about the stillness and "doing nothing" I've practiced in order to open space in my life to see things in a new way, let go of old patterns and ways of relating, and to receive understanding about what I need and want to do in my life, practices and work.

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

My cosmology of life is that we are cosmic beings who occupy our humanness, embodied, in the duality of this world. The soul is an expression of the universal consciousness of love. We stumble and bump into the parts of ourselves that have forgotten, get triggered and frustrated, and practice generating love where we find the absence of love. I feel that our lives here are a process of remembrance and harmonizing with the forgotten aspects of our true nature. As a bridge between the realm of heaven and earth, I feel that our role is to be an instrument of attunement--harmonizing the challenges as opportunities for awakening and cultivating presence, peace and being as love. Like a fire needs friction to get started, our life experiences--from the deeply personal to family, community, national and global--are friction to ignite the never ending journey of awakening. And to have fun, laugh at ourselves in the process, weep madly, create our art and connect deeply.
