1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life? | My primary work is activating alternative, regenerative pathways in a context of communal lands bordering a national park in Zimbabwe. That through the regeneration of the soil and oursleves as individuals and communities the potential for everything we need to flourish becomes a reality, and so does co-existence with wildlife, from an elephant to a snake. This is both in a professional and personal context, born from designing building and creating my family homestead and quality of life using permaculture and natural building. |
2. What role do you see as yours to play? | My role is using creativity and regenerative principles to design, create and collaborate around diverse tangible examples of alternatives to the current system. |
3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above? | Working on multiple projects, one is a bioregional regenerative skills hub we are about to start building using rammed earth. We are a small community based organisation, also with the vision to be part of connecting and growing regeneration nationally and globally and have been connecting in various platforms around this in the past couple of years. |
6. What have you invested in to get you where you are? | My whole, my passion, time, vision, commitment, skills, learning. I've lived in Zimbabwe for over 15 years always in this context, the first 8 years were in the protected area and this last almost 8 years have been on the other side of the road, living as part of a community. It's been a constant learning journey and from the moment I arrived I knew I had arrived home, I care for the future of all life for this place and have dedicated myself and my husband and son have the same dedication love and connection to this place. |
4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are? | This past 2 years has been alot of inner work and this year I have been training with Serendipity, this has been really powerful and is ongoing, training to stay in a high frequent state, taking responsibility for everything, and making a choice, this has brought more love, connection and new possibilities for me both personally, professionally and towards the vision of global regeneration. |
7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life? | Art, permaculture, natural building, Holistic Management, have been the fields of learning that have most impacted my journey. Vandana shiva, Bill Mollison, Buckminster Fuller, Daniel Christian whal, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Joanna Macy Alan Savory are some of the thinkers that have inspired me. |
5. And for professional growth? | We have been exploring how to develop truly regenerative local economies and businesses as tangible examples. I'm always wanting to learn more around regeneration and how to be part of a local and global movement that see thriving systems for all life. |
8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it? | We are here to nurture our gifts and the gifts of others in connection to all life, for future generations of every living thing, we are energy and how we use this energy can go either towards collapse or abundance. I feel I'm open to new possibilities of our connection to the universe and constantly looking to learn. After being brought up in a very religious home, I walked away from the institution of the church at 16 years old, I don't believe the answer lies in an institution. The answer lies in our reconnection of which our potential is limitless in this. |
