1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

As a transformational coach my work is about clearing impediments to and supporting movement into the fullest expression of one's soul's unique calling. This entails the shedding of limiting beliefs, behaviors and patterns. My work in the sustainability arena is related in that I have embraced a mission to transform the relationship humans have with themselves, one another and the natural world at all levels of being and action, transforming the story of humanity from being a destructive influence to becoming a positive partner with the planet.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

I see my role primarily as a facilitator, visionary and provocateur, challenging assumed paradigms to discover a path to and then shape a world that works.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

I have a vision of an EcoPark, a place on the scale of the Disney franchises globally. Here's the script for a video I'm currently having produced to describe the felt sense of the project:

The vision of Ammirari is to create through example and experience, an irresistible invitation to a bright future of thriving abundance in close collaboration and relationship with the natural world. It is a place that propagates hope and seeds inspired action, grounded in solid practice and life-affirming principles.

At first blush, the Ammirari experience is one of wonder. It’s a treat for the senses, a rush of beauty, a friendly tickling by the unknown that awakens curiosity and delight in the magic of new and unfolding worlds that create an opening to consider new ways of being. A shift of mind occurs that is unnoticed yet indelibly etched, a new conversation about what’s possible; a story of humanity as a positive partner with the planet.

We’ve all experienced the despair and hopelessness of a world gone wrong and a nagging sense that it’s too late to turn things around. Ammirari is a fantasmagorical wonderland of solutions related to our world’s ills, addressing issues around climate, food, energy, housing, waste, water, health, economics, consciousness and more.

It is a place to engage with the possible, to wake up to ways we can heal the planet, ways we can transform deserts into gardens, restore vibrant life to coral reefs and oceans, clean our water and clean up our waste. Ammirari is a place to marvel at the brilliance of nature, of algae, fungi and plants to build, feed, fuel and heal. To learn how we can grow nourishing food while nourishing the earth, a place to find a new role for ourselves in concert with our living world and restore our vitality through the grounded optimism born of a way forward to a thriving future.

Join us in the Ammirari vision and COME ALIVE

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

These are really ongoing rather than next areas for growth: Deepening my intuitive awareness and knowing, learning to communicate more directly with nature, finding greater comfort in not knowing, living more often in unbridled wonder and delight. Being a clearer channel for the flow of life.

5. And for professional growth?

Not sure that I see much of a separation between personal and professional growth. That said, I'm taking this course in order to enrich my awareness and skill in conceptualizing and implementing the EcoPark; to be able to consider all the parts and how they might work together, and to do so in a way that nourishes and nurtures the place and community in which it emerges.

I'm also taking a course from an organization called Water Stories which is a training in how to heal the water cycle. They offer the single most hopeful "solution" I've yet discovered to work with nature to address climate change, cataclysmic storms and the cycle of fire, flood, and drought.

I'm also in the process of developing a membership site for the community that's grown out of our Sustainability Now podcast which I hope to launch over the next few months.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

LOTS of personal growth and development. Mostly, I've invested in my dreams and visions of what's possible for me, the people I work with and for humanity's awakening. I've invested in the hope that we can have a collective shift of consciousness that allows us to come into a positive partnership with the planet.

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

That list is expanding all the time. I've always been hungry for learning.

Creativity is foundational to my being. Having had experience as a glassblower, I went to art school where I studied lost wax bronze casting, model making and photography. I later went back to school for a degree in computer animation and multimedia and then had an Adobe software training center for 18 years. The arts are in my blood and beauty is one of my highest values.

Before the training center, I had a 10-year career in sales, which I like to say was bootcamp for socializing myself and learning how to make small talk, a essential skill as it turns out. My career in sales was one of the most important training grounds of my life.

Training in Neuro Linguistic Programming and Hypnosis as well as a body of work called One Brain have also been pivotal in my life and form the foundation of the Core Connection healing modality I've developed over the past 30 years.

While this isn't a complete list and I don't know that I'd characterize them all as "thinkers," I'm fascinated by Tesla, was influenced by R.D.Laing, Bandler and Grinder of NLP fame, Tony Robbins, EST, Carlos Castaneda, Jane Roberts, Yogananda, Frances Moore Lappé, Ram Dass, A. J. Ayer, Gregory Bateson, Richard Bach, Gary Zukav, Wayne Dyer, Robert M. Pirsig, Theosophy, Richard Feynman, Robert O. Becker, Rupert Sheldrake, Peter Tompkins, and more recently Elisabet Sahtouris, Charles Eisenstein, Zach Bush, Carol Sanford, John Fullerton, Janine Benyus, Maude Barlow, Kate Raworth, Bill McKibben, Paul Hawken, Nassim Haramein, Paul Stamets...

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

I live with a working hypothesis that we are source having a human experience, that we are the universe discovering itself. That life is happening for us and through us rather than to us. I'm evolving into a deeper and deeper presence to the interconnectedness of all things and fluctuate between meaning and meaninglessness, self and selflessness. I'm getting better at holding polarity and releasing my righteous knowing. I believe (all the beliefs are working hypotheses) that humans are meaning making machines and as such, we might as well make things up in a way that lights us up. That said, I believe we each came here with a unique soul song we came here to sing and doing so is the highest purpose we can fulfil. When we as human beings move out of our separateness to embrace connection, with ourselves, one another and the living world of which we are a part, when we operate from a place of sufficiency and wholeness, rather than from a place of needing to affirm ourselves with externalities, we will become capable as a species of becoming a positive partner with the planet.
