Cohort AssignmentAmericas with In-Person Intensive in Boston 2023
1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

At age seventy, I am invited to slow down and reflect more: look back at lessons learned and share my insights; focus on my current questions motivating my learning; and secure the legacy of my husband's life work. I continue to be a resource for the Hall-Tonna values-based community of practitioners around the world. I hope I can be a humble resource and contributor to our course cohort.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

The role I gravitate towards continues to be one of educing the knowing and wisdom in others. I have taught in every grade including persons with diverse learning styles. My teaching role culminated in a transformative Master's in Leadership Development program at saint mary College of California. I am also the director of the Hall-Tonna Values Framework Certification to which I hope to add the Regenerative Development and Design concepts and practices.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

I have completed several systems-oriented courses:
The (Fritjoh) Capra Course whose textbook is The Systems View of Life
The Human Systems Dynamics Institute certification as Human Systems Dynamics Practitioner and HSD Essential Course
The Sea Change Design Institute Masterclass, From Crisis into Consciousness (Transformation)

My aim is to expand and deepen my systems perspective in order to co-create and co-design the legacy of the Hall-Tonna Values Framework and to continue to be a value-adding resource to all my family, friends, and colleague.

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

I strongly believe the regenerative development work" begins with me and adding the awareness of the external factors impacting my internal images, thoughts, feelings words, and actions.

I wish to increase my capacity to be a scholar-practitioner with an emphasis on practice. Grounding theory and concepts into practical reality for myself and others.

5. And for professional growth?

My professional growth is intricately tied to my personal. growth as described above. I hope to live into my own beliefs and teachings and be an inspiration for others.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

Besides the courses stated above, I have a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and over 34 years of teaching, coaching, facilitating groups, and consulting with leaders in organizational settings.

I have taken numerous personality and strengths-based instruments to get to know myself and delved deeper into some like the Myers Briggs Type Instrument.

I have read our course text twice and four out of 6 of Carol Sanford's books. I have seen several videos related the Regenerative Development and Design as well as listened to Podcasts.

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

The fields of learning most influential in my life and work have been humanistic psychology, sociology, philosophy, astronomy, quantum mechanics, and leadership to name a few. Some prefer to learn some authors' work through others' 'translations'. My late husband's work comprises over thirty human developmental theories. He saved me from reading as many books as he did.
I delight with the Myers/Briggs Type Indicator and Enneagram.
I dabble in most of the great world religions including Toltec Wisdom and practice meditation.

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

The cosmology of life is really a mystery. I dare state that humans are good unless they suffer trauma. We, humans, are just one more manifestation of the evolutionary impulse. Our brain /ego development unfortunately has led many of us to abuse our planet and humankind. to different degrees. Just as many people have grown more and more aware and conscious of our innate ability and the opportunity to reverse the damage and regenerate our planet and our existence. I believe we can only do that together in community and for that, we need to develop more emotional and social intelligence. It took four years after the publication of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals for a group of people to proclaim what is needed to succeed are The Inner Development Goals! It is my deepest hope the field of Regenerative Development and Design harmonizes the two inner and outer holistically and imbues me with greater effectiveness in becoming an usher of a new epochal paradigm..
