1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life? | At this stage of my life, 38 years old, single, living in the suburbs of Las Vegas. I, Kat Klehm, see my primary work revolving around community building, fitness, and wellness. As the Executive Director of Lincoln Dynamic Foundation, I oversee the day-to-day operations of a non-profit organization that supports the Las Vegas community. My work involves program development, collaboration with community partners and stakeholders, and thinking about new projects and ways of doing things. I also am a group fitness instructor, and am responsible for leading and motivating individuals in various fitness classes. My role requires me to create a positive and supportive environment that encourages people to push themselves physically and mentally. In addition, I am starting a fitness and wellness brand/website. This venture involves developing and promoting my own brand that offers resources, products, and services related to fitness and wellness. My goal is to reach a wider audience and make a positive impact on people's lives through this brand. I also socially sell/market network the brand, MONAT, which is a global haircare, skincare, and wellness brand. Overall, my primary work involves promoting health, fitness, and community building. I use my skills and passion for fitness to inspire and support others in achieving their wellness goals. Your work is important because it helps people live healthier and more fulfilling lives, both physically and mentally. |
2. What role do you see as yours to play? | I see myself playing multiple roles within my primary work. Through all of my roles, I see myself as a leader and motivator. I want to create positive and supportive environments whether it is online, in a fitness class, or as I network and brainstorm with other community leaders. I want to inspire others to make positive shifts. As the executive director of a foundation, I see myself as a community builder and advocate and to use my leadership skills to promote enhancing the community I live in through our pillars of youth empowerment & education, community enhancement, and environmental sustainability. In starting my own brand, I see myself as an entrepreneur and innovator. I need to develop and promote my brand to hopefully make it a success. Through and through, I see myself using my experiences to promote positivity. |
3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above? | My goals are to lead all of my works to success by developing and implementing effective programs, securing funds and resources, collaborating with other members in the community to create a community of like-minded people, and to make a positive impact on the lives I touch. |
4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are? | I want to further develop my leadership skills to become a more effective and inspiring leader |
5. And for professional growth? | I want to gain more industry knowledge to stay up to date on trends and best practices. I would like to broaden my business skills, build strong strategic planning skills so that all of the businesses I am involved with can progressively and positively grow, and to focus on how I market and communicate each business. |
6. What have you invested in to get you where you are? | I have invested a great deal of time, effort and resources in my work. I have had an open mind to learning new things and have obtained a BA in Psychology, my LEED AP, Crossfit Level 1 Certification, Montessori Teacher Certification, and my Nevada Real Estate Broker/Salesperson License. I have also invested personal funds to purchasing equipment for my new brand. Have spent extra efforts into attending community events. Have learned to teach a multitude of fitness classes including cycle, bootcamp, pilates, crossfit, and tread. Have also attended seminars such as , "Know Your Worth" with I have invested building relationships and networking with other professionals across the industries that I work in. |
7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life? | I have looked to many people as important thinkers in my life. My father, Chris Klehm, has led me on a path since birth, to see things through different lenses and to care about others and the environment around us. I have found education through other teachers who I have taught beside, through the owner of the last gym that I worked at and how to grow the community, and my current boss who has had tremendous success in business. |
8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it? | I see the cosmology of life as a journey of self discovery, personal growth, and a mission to leave positive impact on the world. Humans can play both positive and negative roles. Our actions can have significant impact on the environment and we need to take responsibility in our work to create a more equitable world. I believe that humans can live in harmony with one another, but they must also live in harmony with nature. We have a divine purpose on earth. |
