1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life? | Research and also teaching. Community action reserach - with students - would like to get students and community to think in a regenerative development way if possible |
2. What role do you see as yours to play? | explore the development of regenerative enabling capability indicators in an Irish context (with a particular focus at the moment on the credit union and agricultural co-operative sector) |
3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above? | as above |
4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are? | Perhaps become a better listener and let things emerge rather than jumping in with a solution. |
5. And for professional growth? | Develop the community action part of my teaching I have an interest in relational approaches to understanding reality (and my area of study co-operatives) - would like to continue to develop this. |
6. What have you invested in to get you where you are? | I am not sure - perhaps reading and co-ordinating different ideas |
7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life? | DH lawrence, Buber, Kropktin, Robert Owen, AE Russell, Colin Ward, John Steinbeck, Levinas |
8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it? | I have a reluctance towards ideological codes of any sort (even if well meaning) which result in polarisation and some have almost become like a religion. I do think humans have a role to play - I have a concern about the increasing discussion around percision fermention and the removal of farmers from the food system. Corporate aspect of this makes me nervous. |
