Working Title of The Project (which we will use to refer to it throughout the series)

D4CR Warren

Project Location

City of Warren, MN, USA

Nature of The Project (e.g. building, new community, economic development, etc.)

The D4CR Warren project is a two-year pilot of a community planning assistance model that includes asset mapping, backcasting, geodesign, a regenerative scorecard, and game-inspired engagement. It is a complete project in itself, but is intended to be paired with regional planning, which is now underway. Our study will just focus on the Warren project.

Why do you think this project is appropriate for the course assignment?

The project attempts to address a wide range of issues (clean energy, regen ag, equity, housing, water, etc.) which is of interest to group members. While the project is explicitly aiming at regenerative outcomes, it is a Univ. of MN pilot project, not a mature regenerative approach, and so it can learn from application of "What if" Regenesis approaches from the class and the insights of the study group. There is easy access to project leaders (including one group member), and potentially to the funder and local representative and other team members if desired. There is documentation available at https://sites.google.com/umn.edu/d4cr/d4cr-warren but additional documentation can be shared with the group.
