Working Title of The Project (which we will use to refer to it throughout the series)

Re-generating Visuality

Project Location

Brussels, Belgium

Nature of The Project (e.g. building, new community, economic development, etc.)

a study of a company development

We are looking at Visuality (visuality.eu), going through re-alignment of mission / values, structure, and purpose as a company (the project is in a way still "in process"). The company is looking to integrate the principle of regenerative practice into the evolution of the company itself. We want to discover what elements of the practice were integrated in the initial design (albeit not intentionally) and where are there still gaps.

We want to discover what is a "regenerative organization", how is it different from a "sustainable organization" - and how that applies to Visuality. And so we can use Visuality as a case study ("the concrete") - but hope to discover a bigger picture.

Why do you think this project is appropriate for the course assignment?

- we have direct access to the sources (Ela works there) - and they are very willing to cooperate
- 10 years of the company this year - well-established, "ripe" to be studied
- interesting moment - in transition to a cooperative model
- relating to its locality, though having quite a big European dimension

Additional Useful Information

- we understand the extra challenge of the company not being typically "locally nested" - but we are ready to take it on! in fact, it can open opportunities to explore, start new conversations, build up a network
