1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

That is an interesting question. I work at the intersection of community energy program design, architecture, and environmental consulting. Most recently I have been doing energy transition (electrification) consulting work for private community orgs. and local government, with the goal of making building decarbonization and electrification accessible to all.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

I see myself as a connector, leveraging both my experience in architecture/work in the trades and community organizing to create energy programs with meaningful local impact.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

I think it's unfortunately entirely too simple to claim words like 'impact' without fully understanding the scale, scope, and success of said impact, despite one's best intentions. I'd like to define that word for myself and make it more holistic - inclusive and measureable (human/environmental/economic). I'd like to expand that definition into the future to include what potentialities a project could have and learn to prioritize decision-making and bandwidth accordingly.
I also would love to leave room for discovering a new mode of work beyond program development that perhaps is more fully integrated with my personal motivations to operate in a regenerative capacity, instead of retroactively applying regenerative techniques. This may mean being more selective about the roles/jobs I accept moving forward and/or transitioning to a new(ish) path entirely!

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

Being comfortable with extending my sense of self into my work while also maintainin healthy boundaries. I'd also like to work on being more present and to celebrate just being instead of constantly pushing towards productivity or improvement.

5. And for professional growth?

Figuring out if my current mode of work, this environmental consulting piece, is fulfilling my cup in terms of being in line with my personal goals, or if there is a path that is perhaps more in tune with my combination of expertise and life goals. I would love to explore without fear or apprehension if my role as a 'connector' is best suited for what im currently doing or if there is perhaps another path forward where I can have more impact.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

- Education - 6 years of architecture school
- People + Place: community connections - local nonprofit work, municipal work, etc.
- risk taking! willingness to explore beyond the normative career boundaries
- time
- myself - reflecting on whether i'm impacting the work and vice versa

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

Mindfulness is rather vague but has been relatively huge for me recently. While I have never latched onto a specific philosophy I am intrigued by buddhist principles, stoicism, and others!

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

Wow, my life philosophy! Honestly for me, it's about resononace. Acheiving connection. Humans have a active role to play in understading our role in these systems and choosing to impact them in a positive way.
