1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

Most recently I have been interested in master planning and development. While I am becoming efficient in laying out spaces to obtain maximum yield on a project, what is lacking is a greater sense of the whole and a purpose-driven outcome.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

I feel that my role will not only be to practice what I learn in the way of regeneration, but also to foster its success through partnerships and shared interests and to promote its practices.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

As much as it is outside of my comfort zone, I feel that it will be my responsibility to outwardly share and promote this type of work so that eventually it becomes default/standard practice for myself as well as my organization.

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

I want to learn and grow and reframe my thinking about the built environment. I seek knowledge and inspiration and want to be open to new ways of thinking to not get stuck in doing things the way that I have always done them.

5. And for professional growth?

To be a mentor and an advocate. To get our name out there as practitioners and start to draw in the type of clients and consultants that have a heart for this kind of work.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

I went to school and then worked for a decade in production mode with speed, efficiency, and profit as the focus. I had to stand up for what was important to me and leave behind what was comfortable. I am still learning how to be comfortable being uncomfortable and how to be okay with not having all of the answers. I have put a lot of energy into my career. My aims are starting to shift yet again, hopefully towards a better way of being.

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

I'm not really sure to be honest. I've never been educated in or sought out philosophical texts or continued education courses. What really kick-started this desire to learn about regeneration was participation in the Latitude Regenerative Real Estate Retreat in Maine.

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

I think that humans have to consciously battle ego and endeavor to tap into life beyond themselves. We have to put in the work to get outside of ourselves and see the beauty of the world and our place in it. When we fail to do so, we can unwittingly become more of a parasitic force only taking and never giving back.
