1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life? | I am working in the field of making cities more sustainable and resilient. More specifically, recently I have been advising urbanists and developpers when it comes to bringing more nature/vegetation in their urban projects. Some would say I fall under the conceptual umbrella of Nature Based Solutions (applied to cities). |
2. What role do you see as yours to play? | It is still something I am trying to figure out. I think I have a role to play with initiation of projects and their governance, two things I have been doing in the last years. I have noticed that I can give the best of myself when I can bring my domains of expertise within a human adventure. Another role I have been playing is to create bridges between the academic world and more private/public initiatives. My earth sciences background and my enthusiasm for transmission makes it really enjoyable for me to share my expertise. |
3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above? | My goal is to find myself in the next few months, years, in a adventure (NGO, company, land project) that participates in the regeneration of the Earth where I can use my talents and express myself. I could join an existing adventure or create one with others. I am open and ready. |
6. What have you invested in to get you where you are? | I have invested my time, my energy and my love. I have also given some of my health to handle the weight my family system left me. I have invested money into therapy and money into taking a side path from the one that was expected from my education. |
4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are? | I think my next arenas are to really connect, acknowledge and develop my zone of talents. I think paternity is going to be part of this growing process. |
7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life? | I love to learn. I made space to learn about science, therapy, sociology, politics, war, theater. Reading, I have enjoyed : Henry David Thoreau, Edward O. Wilson, George Monbiot, Paul Kingsnorth, Naomi Klein, Charles Eisenstein. |
5. And for professional growth? | I have long been a researcher. I have an easy access to dreaming. It is easy for me to see the horizon. Now I want to meet the entrepreneur energy, the next-step mindset. |
8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it? | I think I am invited to honor my emotions and to learn how to live with myself and my species (humans). Each year I can navigate this with more peace, grounding and laugh, it is a big reward. |
