Cohort AssignmentEurope Summer-Fall 2023, Cohort 2
1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

I work on disaster risk science communication.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

Communicate how human activities (with their roots in the current economic paradigm) are leading to more and stronger extreme weather events. I am increasingly drawn to communicating the message that true changes happens within by changing our worldviews as we humans become active citizens in decentralized systems and spiritual beings who steward the natural world we are a manifestation of.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

I want to develop a “workshop” - ie an engaging and collaborative dynamic/experience - that goes beyond the classic scientific communication of climate change (it’s impacts and superficial “solutions”). An experience that makes participants experience the beauty of the natural world that needs protecting, learn a new story of how societies could reorganize and open up to the need to work at a personal level to heal wounds that prevent us from interbeing.

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

Deep community building (incl for resilience to natural hazards); deep ecology; emergency response. I’m learning to play the guitar to communicate differently, at a deeper and less mental level.

5. And for professional growth?

Same as above. Can’t separate both.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

GEDS from Gaia Education. Post grad in sustainability management. Lots of book readings. Conferences. Learning to facilitate workshops. Created a sustainability training from stratch.

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

Natural intelligence via Daniel Wahl, Monica Gagliano, Robin Wahl Kimmerer

Economic reforms via Donella Meadows, Constanza, Jason Hickel, John Fullerton

New paradigms via Satish Kumar, Charles Einsenstein, Jeremy Lent, Laura Storm, Neal Donald Walsh

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

Stewards of the Earth 🙂 Able to influence outcomes through collective work/visualization as individual parts manifesting of the whole and its direction.
