I relate as an deep ecologist, believing that humans, while making up a small proportion of life on earth, play a critical role due to our power to destroy or regenerate life. I see that since we so recently (as a species) lost our animistic connection with the living systems which support us, we have destroyed so much, including the very quality of our own lives. I believe that our evolution (and survival) as a species depend on understanding our place within the context of this living planet and acting upon it.
