Cohort AssignmentAmericas Hybrid In-Person/Online with Intensive in the Hudson Valley, Spring-Summer 2024
1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

The most pressing issue in my region is suburban sprawl. The blackland prairies of East Texas have some of the most fertile land in the county and urban sprawl has turned pastures into pavement for decades. My work should focus on reimaging development for the health of our land, community, and heritage.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

Pioneering regenerative development to the small cities of North East Texas.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

My aim is to eventually partner with city leadership in Dallas, Frisco, Kaufman, and other rapidly growing areas in my region for regenerative projects. Before focusing on the inner cities, my goal is to set the standard for new developments to maintain the integrity of the land for future generations.

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

Attuning myself to the natural cycles and patterns of nature, learning from its systems and applying those findings to my reality.

5. And for professional growth?

Learning how to repair and bind communities that are threatened by the effects of suburban sprawl like gentrification.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

My time in learning regenerative practices in agriculture and where the intersection of ag and real estate can make a profound difference in climate change. Our informal team is also in the pre-development phase of a potential new project. While this is outside of my normal 9-5, my aim is to get the funding needed to be a Developer full time.

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

Alan Savory's work in Holistic Management began my dive into this world. Aided by powerful literature such as The Good Ancestor by Roman Krznaric and Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

Humans are but a blink in Earth's history.
