1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

I'm currently working as a consultant at Ethica Finland, where my main focus is on circular built environments. I’m also a part time university teacher at Aalto University in strategic urban planning course "Planning for the Future". In addition, I volunteer as a sustainable construction specialist in NGOs Ukumbi ry and Mifuko Trust ry. I have a masters degree in architecture and urban planning, but enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams and am always looking for new ways to combine design, strategy and research in my work to create novel, holistic solutions.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

My goal is to make a positive impact in the changing society. I have previously approached this goal through the roles of an architect and entrepreneur and have recently taken on the role of a consultant, thus acting as a guide to assist larger companies within the construction sector as well as cities to strive towards this goal.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

My aim is to gain more experience in the applications of regenerative design in order to confidently offer my expertise to my clients, ranging from strategic roadmaps to building and product design.

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

Enhanced ambition in climate action.

5. And for professional growth?

Enhanced professional confidence in regenerative design. Gaining further understanding regarding my unique core expertise (combination of design, strategy and research). Enhanced confidence in marketing consultancy services related to regenerative design and making this a viable, stable business.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

I have invested in meticulously exploring a career path that is in line with my personal values. This has included making certain career moves in the past when I have felt that my values have been compromised, as well as holding several different positions (designer, consultant, university teacher, NGO volunteer) at a time. I have regularly put in time and effort to update my competency.

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

Inclusive design, circular design, biophilic design, environmental psychology. Architect William McDonough and chemist Michael Braungart, economist Kate Raworth, architect Michael Pawlyn, among others.

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

Humans and nature should be seen as equal.
