What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life? | I am Real Estate & Hospitality Development Advisory and Coach who consults people building complex land projects with diverse teams (residential plus some retreat/eco-hospitality). I've lived in Costa Rica 20 years, developed my own projects, learned a lot, and now help sherpa others in doing the same. I work with bill on a project called El Nido with Andrew Pollard and work closely with Nico over the years (our host location). I have a Land Accelerator on Livethepossibility.co and a mastermind called the Land Steward Alliance with my clients, project founders all over CR, architects, lawyers, investors - the whole soup! Also do a lot of non-profit work here and abroad with Leapforward.us working on human coherence. |
2. What role do you see as yours to play? | Sherpa and guide - i'm also a retreat center builder and operator, creating events and retreats so i work from A-Z to ensure something is built that can lead to human evolution and be operated the right way to ensure integrity. I'm a connector, people person, and love gardening |
3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above? | TO learn as much as i can about regenerative development to form a strong field with my clients, team, and the local context (nature, people, all the stakeholders). |
4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are? | Execution of some of the project's in the pipeline for years, launching our opco, and learning real development skills with you all. |
5. And for professional growth? | Scale our impact via the advisory company and launch our Opco of 8 properties in Costa Rica and a few globally. |
6. What have you invested in to get you where you are? | A lot - 18 years of blood sweat and tears and many smiles. Money, time, team, strategy and a few years building a focused foundation for life and my impact via our company! |
7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life? | Wow so many Pattern language, the Bible, a ton of spiritual texts, but mostly the 18 years of living and working in Costa Rica have taught me so much via my experience in developing projects to developing relationships. Always about the people more than the project - my biggest lesson and focus! |
8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it? | Evolution. We are evolving. We are nature. When we don't futz with it. Creating conditions conducive to life (we are often a species doing the opposite). But me personally i'm here to co-evolve with my fellow humans and walk people there along the way of my own learning. I'm here to know myself (who am I and why am i here) and know my light so that i can share it with the world and live in the peace of my truth. And i'm curious since a kid as to how community looks like in practice and have dedicated my life to those pursuits. |
