1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life? | Interior design house flipping and trying to figure out how to do it in collaboration with nature. |
2. What role do you see as yours to play? | As an investor, I can be selective with projects in regards to location, methodology and materials. |
3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above? | However, I know I need more innovation and efficiency. I would like to be able to set a new standard of renovating and be able to share the methodology. My aim is to raise awareness within the field. |
4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are? | I am constantly working to improve my internal space ( mind/body connection) plus I strive to maintain high levels of personal relationships within my family and friends. I try to encourage empathy and understanding as a way of connecting in relationships. This also translates to our environments. |
5. And for professional growth? | I hope to continue to spread information through connections with various people along the way. My hope is to connect ourselves to nature and all life. I feel this will uplift humanity and support our environments. |
6. What have you invested in to get you where you are? | I have invested in myself through many avenues of personal growth including therapy, trips, meditation, education, health, dance, and my entrepreneurial spirit. I continually invest in my marriage of 22 years and our 12 year old daughter by supporting and encouraging self awareness and connection with nature. I invest in my family of origin and friends with regular visits and hosting gatherings. I try and work with family members and friends as much as possible. I work with my sisters and brothers regularly. I invest in my pets too and in the past have volunteered for rescues and also for hypo-therapy, aiding in horse care. I invest in charities to support human welfare and protect the environment. |
7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life? | Currently I am reading "The Works of Thoreau", it's intriguing. He was wise and well connected. I have spent some time studying jazz dance under Chris Baltes and her classic technique originating from Luigi |
8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it? | I feel we are an evolved animal. I grew up believing that we (humans) were superior but I don't find myself to be above other living beings. I see myself in a flow of life with them. I think most of our culture these days is unable to anticipate consequences before they happen or assess overall costs. While my view of humanity may be a bit bleak, I think humanity has the potential to overcome our shortsightedness. I hope to be part of this change, to learn from native knowledge and to know the value and importance of life. |
