1. What do you see as your primary work at this stage of your life?

Contribute to improving society and my community at local, municipality level.

2. What role do you see as yours to play?

I am currently playing the role of projectmanager.

3. What goals or aims do you have in regard to the above?

Integrate regenerative thinking in my current role and projects.
Advance regenerative thinking within the municipality.

Carve out a path for myself for the future - a better sense of the role I can play and what steps I need to take to get there.

4. Where do you feel your next arenas for personal growth are?

Overall, after a period of mostly focusing on finding stability in my life I feel ready again to move outside of my comfort zone, get inspired and find more alignment between my inner drive and the work that I do/ the things I give my time and energy to.

I want to be able to better navigate complexity and uncertainty. Gain more confidence and trust in this. I feel this is crucial in today’s society and in moving regenerative development forward.

5. And for professional growth?

Confidently facilitating teams and stakeholders in regenerative work.
Being able to switch between levels of work, integrate the levels.

6. What have you invested in to get you where you are?

Overall, I have tried to stay open-minded, curious and self-critical. I tried to learn as much as I could from the inspiring people I had the privilege to work with.

As for studies and work experience:

I first completed a Masters in Culture- and Personality Psychology. After that, I worked in development cooperation internationally - on human rights, health, youth participation. This also brought me to Brussels for a few years.

Then I wanted to broaden my horizon to be able to work more on sustainable development. I completed a Masters in Business Economics and Management. My thesis and internship were on business contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals - insights into the internal processes in Dutch multinational companies. During that time I also completed the Ecovillage Design Education (EDE). Both triggered my interest in regenerative development.

After that I moved back to my hometown for personal reasons and since then I’m trying to use my learnings and experiences in working on local community projects. First in energy transition, then in social inclusion and currently in various domains.

7. What fields of learning and which thinkers have been important in your life?

Psychology, sociology, culture, indigenous knowledge, spirituality, organizational studies, sustainable development etc.

I find it very hard to name thinkers from earlier on in my life. I guess I mostly remember ideas and insights, not so much the names behind them. Recently I have been interested in reading Joanna Macy, Daniel Christian Wahl, Kate Raworth, Paul Hawken, Eckhart Tolle, Vandana Shiva. And nationally I have been following Kees Klomp, Jan Rotmans, Rutger Bregman.

8. Can you frame your philosophy or cosmology of life? What role(s) do humans play in it?

Everything is connected. As humans we have a role in that connection, just like every other living organism.
