Description

Storying Place: An Introduction to The Process of Activating Place-Sourced Potential

An understanding of the living dynamics and qualities of places is an anchor for regenerative development. Without this understanding, we find ourselves importing best practices and fashionable ideas rather than allowing the unique potential of a system to be surfaced in order to guide its development.

In this course, we will explore the Story of Place methodology developed by Regenesis Group, looking for ways to apply and evolve it as we grapple with the complexities of the places in which our projects occur. This course takes a deep dive into the “ground” point of the regenerative development tetrad, but it also recapitulates many of the key issues that arise when one commits to a regenerative approach: how do I bring wholeness to my thinking? How do I use frameworks to better understand the complexities of living systems? How do I engage others (clients, colleagues, the public) in caring for the innate potential of a place?

This mastery course will be led by core faculty of the Regenesis Institute.

Is this course right for me?
This course could be a good fit for you if any of the following statements apply.

  • You are ready to take a deeper dive into one of the key differentiators of regenerative development.
  • You’re finding that an inability to adequately understand and convincingly articulate the nature of the systems you are working in is creating a ceiling to your ability to be effective.
  • You’re seeking a way to bring together disparate constituencies and perspectives around a shared sense of purpose.
  • You’ve taken the Getting Good at Place-Sourced Potential workshop and are interested in “going deeper” in a more structured way.
