Description
Registration Deadline: January 15th
How do we grow the will and capacity of systems to actively design for their own co-evolution, in a way that leads to a new level of reciprocal value-generating capacity? Most system change efforts tend to start from noticing a problem, and lead to “fixing” how the related system functions (e.g., making it more efficient in delivering services, more just in how it allocates and utilize resources, etc.). As a result, the institutions that shape and manage the systems that give life to our communities are designed to maintain operations but not to improve themselves in the face of increasing environmental and economic instability. System Evolution introduces the theory and technology behind a regenerative approach to socio-ecological systemic change. A core inquiry in this course is: how do we effectively engage in system redesign in a way that grows the inherent intelligence, will, and capacity for ongoing evolution?
This mastery course will be primarily led by Regenesis faculty member Joel Glanzberg with support from Pamela Mang.
Is this course right for me?
This course could be a good fit for you if any of the following statements apply:
- You are currently working on, actively planning or preparing for a systemic change effort in a place (e.g., systems connected to bioregional resource management, transportation, food/ag, finance, waste management, land use, health, education, etc.)
- You are resourcing or consulting to members of an institution who are seeking to grow the value the institution can generate within its nested systems.
- You see working regeneratively at a systems level as the next order of capacity required to realize the potential you see for your work and those you are serving.
- You’ve taken the Core/Field/Task Team workshop and are interested in going deeper into its application to system evolution.
